Books that changed Life

Sheethal remarks, “Books have actually shaped the person in me. I had to read Tale of Two cities by Cherles Dickens in school. It had far-reaching influence on my future reading and thoughts. The quote, It was the best of times,it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom and the age of foolishness, it was an epoch of belief and also of incredulity, the season of light and also despair and it was the spring of  hope and the winter of despair’ described  a view of a world that changes, but still does not. The lyrical prose projections the authoritarianism of today’s world, she recalls.
The Discovery of India written by Jawaharlal Nehru while in prison was the second book she read in school that changed my vision to look at India and beyond India. It gave me a knowledge of Indian history in a simple and articulate way .It helped when  I studied International Relations at JNU.
